The Hawk is an original Arnold Palmer design, and he also redesigned the existing King and Squire nines. The par 3s on all three golf courses are known for being scenic and challenging. Many of them play over water. The Hawk/King combination can be tricky but it is forgiving enough to accommodate a range of skill levels. The front nine finishes with one of the toughest holes on the golf course. It is a narrow par 4 that demands both accuracy and distance. Golfers can warm up with the short game area and there are also putting and chipping greens available.
The South Course is one of two 18-hole courses at Talking Stick Golf Club in DC Ranch. It shares some characteristics with its sister course, the North, such as the generous, player-friendly fairways, but there is plenty of variety on each course. The South is different in that is has many more trees, providing a completely different landscape than the link-style North Course.
